What about ad-hoc routing protocols?

• Landmark, DSR, DSDV, AODV, etc.

• A big step in the right direction, but:

  • Not scalable beyond local area (≈hundreds of nodes)

• Good for outdoor geek parties

• Useless for Joe and Jim
